I am hoping that the plumber is coming in the next few weeks. He said he would, anyway.
At the time that the noise was occurring, The water temp in the boiler was about 160. The delta t between inlet and outlet was practically zero (maybe 10 degrees), and the Ermogax was calling for heat. Yes, the Phase III was pulling off the Ergomax/boiler primary loop, but shouldn't the large water volume circulating between the boiler and the Ergomax in my situation prevent the groaning? I don't understand why that situation would cause the noise.
I ran my water inlet valve for about 5 seconds and then shut it off (to increase pressure to 20). And haven't heard the noise since.
