So he wants to take a pipe off a 1-1/2 pipe and put it in a 3/4" pipe, instead of where it was planned. There is no way to know what his result is, or why he wants to change it.

If the ErgoMax is looked at as just another zone, piped the same way as the other zones with the flow controls and pumps in the same relationship to all the others, there is no difference from an ordinary zoned system. If you then put all the large zones on a 3/4 pipe, you then have a restrictor. Perhaps the plumber should lay out a piping plan and calculate the resistances at the flows to prove his point (not likely.) There is more potential income in this for him if his plan doesn't work than if it is piped as it was planned.
