Short Recycling Periods

We have a new 1836 Sq.Ft. ranch in northeast PA with a full basement, most of which is above grade. There's R-38 insulation in the attic, R-19 in the walls and R-5 in the basement walls. The furnace is a "Weil-McLain CGi" (HWBB), with an output of 85,000 BTUs. The boiler temp is set at 180 degrees. The Honeywell T87F thermostat heat anticipator was set at around .3 and the boiler was running for 2 minutes and then turning off for three minutes, when the temperatures were in the 30's and 40's.

I changed the heat anticipator to .8. The recycling changed to on for 3 minutes and off for 12 minutes. I was happy when the unit was recycling 4 times per hour instead of 12 times per hour. But..

Now that the outside temperatures are in the 20's and low 30's, the boiler is recycling every 4 minutes (2 minutes on, 2 minutes off).

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
