With the boiler rising to the 180F range, there might be a problem. If that is the situation with the Taco flowcheck reducing flow in the circulator from 30 to 18 gpm, I'd install a separate 1-1/2" full-flow check valve on the line. The check can then go near the tee you wanted to place in the line where the boiler outlet meets the system return going to the tank. There is not a gravity-flow problem in the boiler loop to the system, so a flow-check isn't necesary, just a need to prevent the system circulators ever from pumping water through the boiler. It is not worth using more energy and lowering flow by 12 gpm with an integral check to force using a 0012.
