I spoke with my plumber, and he is onboard with all of the recommendations you have made.
As far as the boiler flow, I know you said that our problems were from inadequate system volume, not flow.
However, I was looking at the specs for the Taco 0010 pump with integral flowcheck (IFC), and it says the max flow rate of that pump is 18 gpm. The regular 0010 pump (without IFC) has a max flow rate of 30 gpm.
From Lochinvar's website, the absolute minimum flow the 300K btu boiler can have is 12 gpm.
At 18 gpm (not sure of total head for the tank/pipe loop, the temp rise of the boiler would be 25-30. I understand that if just the 150K burner is on, we would be totally fine, but for the month or so that we require both burners (300K btu), will there be an issue with flow with the 0010 with IFC?
