Everything is all set. I emailed my schematic to the plumber, and he is going to get the parts and do the install after the holidays.
With a 72 gallon tank, by your calculations, it will take just about 3 minutes for the boiler at 240K btu input to heat it 20 degrees.
If only the 140K burner is on, it will take a little over 5 minutes to raise the temp in the tank 20 degrees.
How would that equate to boiler run time? It must vary depending on how many zones are calling and pulling out of the tank. I'd like to run a scenario...Say 2 fancoils are calling for heat and the boiler operating temp is set at 180, while the tank calls for heat at 160....I'm wondering how long the tank will empty before calling for heat and then how long the boiler will run (figuring that as the boiler is running, hot water is still being removed from the tank to feed those 2 zones).
And thank you HeatPro for your time and patience in sharing your knowledge with me. You have been fantastic, and I truly appreciate it.
Have a great holiday season.
Dave
