As measurements for that chart should start at the circulator around the entire circuit through the radiation and back to the boiler and circulator again as a 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch circuit, but here the main will be larger, each run will have less resistance, so the chart is a very generous - which can solve potential clog or valve resistance problems. Each half-inch line at a 40F drop through the radiator will allow 30,000 btuh (1.6 gpm @ 9 ft heat) through the radiator at a complete circuit length of 180 feet with a 9-foot head which popular circulators provide. As you will balance the flow at the radiation branches with balancing valves, the generous allowances for water flow will not be a concern when you adjust them down to what is needed for the room.
