Yowzah!!

I just called our local supply house, and the only storage tank they sell is Lochinvar. A 78 gallon tank is $1100. I guess it's cheaper than a whole new boiler.I know you guys said I should put in the buffer tank, and I'm not questioning your knowledge. BUT, (there's always a but)I timed the boiler when it was heating our hot water (single zone) and it ran for 5 minutes, which is much better than before. It used to run only about 2 minutes. Will repiping and adding the storage tank save me $$$ in the longterm?

By the way, I spoke with them at Lochinvar, and they said it was fine to run the boiler on the single stage (at 150,000 BTU) for longterm use.
So I am going to see how the old girl performs with just the single burner firing this winter. I changed the DHW switch to priority on the Taco controller. It's keep in the 30's at night, and the house has been fine. The very worst we usually get here in northern CT is 0 to -10 (coldest day of the year). Normally, I'd say it's in the 20's or so.
Thanks again.
Dave
