My GF has an old Crane Boiler # 14-5 series X-A with a CB Heater # 10-1420.
Since I moved in I noticed the water goes from scalding hot to cold in a matter of a 10 minutes when taking showers. This was after the service guy had cleaned the unit and adjusted the cold to hot water flow valve on the out side of the water heater. He basically closed the valve because prior to closing t he valve, hot water was practically non existant. Anyway, I purchased a 40 gallon gas water heater.I want to make the new tank the only source of hot water. How do I permanently disconnect the old tankless system and ensure the boiler will no longer fire up just to heat water? Thanks.
