MAIN POINT OF KNOWLEDGE: The 'pump-away' rule NEVER puts the expansion tank on return piping, so the basic requirement is to know what 'pump-away' means.

SECOND POINT: The instructions found at:

has a NOTE in bold type on page 16 saying: "Never install expansion tank and auto-fill valve on the return."

Right after that note, 7. says "If necessary, install a properly sized circulator with optional isolation valves in supply beyond expansion tank.

Therefore, the instructions to READ THE INSTALLATION MANUAL is a good idea.
