Another concern: If we have a bypass in the boiler loop, then some water will go directly from supply to return. If the external pump is not powerful enough or is off, is it possible that most hot water just run within the boiler loop and can never reach heating zone for heating? I am asking this because our external pump is not contralled by the boiler. It has only one manual power switch, so it will be either on or off all the time no matter the boiler is running or not, unless somebody flip the switch. Our plan is that we mostly keep it off and only switch on when we need fast heating. So in general we will rely on the internal pump for circulation. Thanks.
