That's a good point, I guess. I figured out that the shower head puts out 1.58 gal/min and the tub runs at 4.6 gal/min. Combined that's 6.18gal/min when running simultaneously. With a 45 gallon take, that would run it dry in 7.3 minutes.

I guess my next question is then, how is that rate (7.3 minutes) effected by the actual temp that is coming out of both heads, since both children are certainly not running very hot water?

And, shouldn't the boiler be replacing the hot water that is being consumed? What is that approximate rate?
