Only so much heat can be made to make hot water, and the heat exchange speed of the water tank can but make a certain amount. Run water through it faster than it can keep the water hot, and it will fail to do so.

Teach your children to cooperate and take a shower, then take a bath, instead of seeing which can run it out fastest at the same time. Four gallons a minute and 2.5 gallons per minute, or 6.5 gallons per minute leaves about 10 minutes from a 60 gallon tank.
