Oil is a liquid that oxidizes over time, is poured into a vessel and then sits with air in it. Pulling a vacuum on it with a two-pipe system pulls gases out of the liquid. When two pumps pull from the same line, one pulls against seals of the other pump while it is off. So there are several reasons gases and air will collect under low pressure.

You are better off with a one-line system with 1/4 the flow that won't create a high vacuum.
