The use duct coils will increase the heat loss slightly. The more air currents you set up the higher the heat loss. It is better if the checkbook stretches to have separate systems. Than the systems can be designed for there purpose either heating or cooling. The baseboard temps can also operate at lower temperatures than air duct coils.
Mixing between cast iron and copper tube baseboard in the same loop is not advised as they heat up and cool at separate rates.
A mod-con may not be your best bet with baseboard it depends on the heat loss and the amount of radiation you have in the home.
