I live in Calgary and also have a Laars residential boiler. The boiler has been giving me a lot of headache lately. Last year, I had it cleaned up to fix a pilot outage problem. Then the expansion tank was "flooded" so got it replaced as well. The service guy told me that the system needs to be flushed because the water is dirty. I'm still pondering the idea of paying some guy 6 hours of labor to do this job or so I was quoted, so I'm really interested in finding out how much it cost you or how little it cost you if you did it by yourself.
