OK. Over the past 36 hrs, I've gotten very little water out of the safety valve.

Presumably because the stronger pumps create a larger pressure differential?

I'm still concerned about the difference in gauge temp vs aquastat setpoint... specifically, I suppose that I'm worried that the aquastat is deteriorating, and that a hard failure could occur with dire consequences...What's a good way to meausure the temp in the boiler?
