To raise 60 gals of water x 8.33 x 40 degrees = 20,000 btuh. So you are firing off a 140,000 btuh system for 22 minutes = 45,000 to raise the water 20,000 btuh worth. Pretty dang wasteful.

A Phase III can recover 400 gallons of hot water with a 200F temperature.

Seems to be a fruitless test situation.

At least you can know that an 80 gallon buffer tank can heat the water in the 60 gallon Phase III without even firing the burner most of the time.
