Outdoor reset will try to maintain lower boiler water temp until you need it in the coldest part of the season. This will cause excessive short cycling on an oversized boiler since you're not pulling enough BTU's out of the water now. A tekmar 261 or Lochnivar's own reset unit should be smart enough to only fire the boiler on high when many zones are calling for heat and the temp outside is very low. If you never need 300K BTU's, you probably don't need high fire and you don't need to be pumping through the boiler @ 50GPM. Tough call but I'd try to repipe and see if you get better performance running it on low fire with reduced flow (smaller pump). As anyone done a heatloss calc on the house to see what it realy needs?
