Thanks for the suggestions. I take it that you are suggesting two possible problems:

1. Pitch of the lines

What sort of pitch should I be looking for? Is there a difference in the pitch required for the main line compared to that of the branch going off to the problem rad? There seems to be a condensate return line coming off the steam delivery line at or near the point where the branch to the problem rad is located. I'm not sure if this is relevent or not.

2. The vents

When you mention the "main" vent, are you referring to the vent on the rad itself or a vent in the basement? Where would I get a "vacuum breaker" - are there any manufacturers you could suggest?
