I'm looking for info on how to generate domestic hot water. I presently have a tankless coil in a Weil Mcclain 468 oil burner which cannot provide enough hot water for our family. The hot water lasts only a short time. The burner limits are set at 180 and 200 and a mixer valve is installed. I'm thinking about adding a electric hot water heater and feeding it with the tankless coil output. Are there any drawbacks to doing this or is there a better way? The burner is serviced yearly and has always had domestic hot water issues. I see some posts about indirect tanks and am not sure how they work. Thanks for any feedback.
