Boiler leaking?

I have a Federal oil fired boiler (probably about 40 years old) that leaks ( may be an ounce or two of water on the floor) once in a while (so far once last december, once about a month ago and the last one today) when it is turned off. It leaks just above the combustion chamber at the level of the bottom of the return pipe. I also see lots of water marks at the same level. When the boiler is on, I do not see any water on the floor. If anyone is familia with this particular brand or similar boilers, I would appreciate it if they tell me from where this leak may be originating and what their experience is with the repair of such leaks (if possible at all)? I was told that this is NOT a cast iron boiler. Thanks in advance for any replies. Jim
