i own a four story house with a weil mclain gold oil boiler. model # a/b-sgo-9(W) rated at 263,000 net BTu/hr with a tankless coil rated at 8 GPM at 200 degrees and the aquastat set between 140-200 degrees. there are a total of six people living in the house. the problem is that the water gets cold in the middle of a shower. With a total of 2 1/2 baths this probably draws more water than the boiler can produce per minute even with a flow control valve and a mixing valve together. i was thinking about installing an indirect-fired water heater or just an electric hot water heater with its elements disconnected to be used as a storage tank like specified in hydronic.net. could you tell me which one is more efficient in producing enough hot water using a minimal amount of oil?
thanks gary
