we just moved into our house in june. it was built in 1958, all brick. we have a gas hot water return heating system with baseboard heat. when we turn up the thermostat, we can hear the water rushing through the baseboards. what is causing this, and is it a problem? neither i or my husbas in the least bit technically inclined or knowledgeable in these matters. we have our furnace checked and bought the maintenance contract from our gas company in the fall. should we call them to come and check the system?
