also- is your system zoned with solienoid valves instead of circulator pumps? if so, say your main pump is a 12 gallon per minute pump, and only one zone calls for heat. only that one solenoid opens and guess what, you get all 12 gallons per minute through a pipe too small. restrict the flow= increased velocity=noise.
thats why its better to zone with multiple circulators although its more expensive. if a zone that only reqiures 1 gallon per minute calls for heat, only its pump comes on and its sized to deliver only 1 gallon per minute not sized for the TOTAL demand.
