I have read up on the causes of water hammer; I have seen situations described when the system first heats up, as well as situations when the system has been running for a while.
I have a more puzzling problem. About 15-20 minutes *after* the system fires down, I get a single bang in a couple of my radiators. Not at the same time, but usually within a few minutes of each other.
Any thoughts?
