As the Weil steam boiler is 84 AFUE or less, try to get him to write down on the contract that he'll guarantee the efficiency of the new boiler will cut your bill by $10 per hundred dollars of fuel, or he'll keep replacing the boiler until he gets one that efficient. There are 4 quarts in a gallon, and the saving would be 10% which would be less than a pint saved. That would mean your fuel bill will have to cut $200 from a $2000 fuel bill each year.
200 goes into 6000 dollars how many times?
only 20 years to get the price of the replacement back from the fuel saved.
