Your water treatment company would be concerned with making the water palatable and safe for human consumption. Call them to see if their water isn't being treated. Silt and dirt wouldn't harm the boiler or piping, acid water would. Ask the local water company about the water condition. If they say it should be made neutral with some calcium product, then follow their suggestion according to the boiler manufacturer instruction.
