I have a Weil Mclain HE-II (circa 1993) that have a boiler mate attached for domestic HW. In the past month, I have been having problems getting it to successfully get past the purge cycle. It seems to be the electrical connectors to the control board (United Technologies Integrated Boiler Control 1013-100). Often times, the blower won't even power up when the hot water calls for heat. When I wiggled the 9-pin connector, the blower comes on, but often times doesn't stay on (loose connection I guess). Add to that, there must be ANOTHER connection that is loose. I know that the red Purge light must also be on in order for it to get to the next stage, the Ignitior. It will NEVER get to ignitor unless the blower operates for it's 30 seconds or so AND the red Purge light is on. I have gotten it to work before in the past month, but it's getting more and more tempermental. I have looked at the inter circuit board on the 1013-100, and it looks to be in great shape. No cracks, the soldered on plug connectors seem solid. I guess it's just a poor design in these connectors? I'd hate to buy a brand new 1013-100 ($200 or so) just because of poor connectors. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Thanks!
