both of you guys missed the point...in order to have adequate heating capacity you figure for worst case scenario(with outdoor reset) two boilers are preferable because each smaller boiler will run longer. efficiency is juxtaposed relative to time as well...each time a boiler shuts off it starts to lose heat thru the flue..a bigger boiler would satisfy many more times than a smaller capacity boiler. 3 zones and a indirect tank..3850 sq ft.. thats a lot of boiler to put thru (1) direct vent. perhaps thats why the options are so limited...go figure. there's the option of a power vent..but kiss efficiency goodbye, post purge will steal your heat...
