My Burnham V7 is leaking for the second time. Bought in 98 or 99, rebuilt in 01 after a leak. My installer is recommending a Dunkirk Empire II Water Series. He can do for a good price, however I'm wondering if it's worth it to pay ~1500 more for a Burnham MPO or even more (not sure how much) for a Buderus (115?)). Burnham will give me about $700 rebate for replacement, but my installer has the Dunkirk already piped out, so it will be cheaper. My installer says the Burnham is very similar to the Buderus, so there is no reason to pay for it.

I know some contractors and contacted my plumber, and none have heard of Dunkirk, so I'm wondering if this will be a good system. The Empire II is rated up to 86% efficiency.

What should I be thinking about to make this decision? Thanks.
