: I'm leaning towards ECR/Olsen because a local plumber likes them a lot, they've been around a long time, and they are made in North America (which I hope means parts are available if required!). I'm also waiting for price comparison information -
"ECR INTERNATIONAL: North American brands include Airco, Dunkirk, Hyundai, EMI, Olsen, Oneida Royal, Pennco, Retroaire, Utica"
The boiler from ECR will be that casted by Dunkirk. Many brands use them and relabel them.
"In 1928, Earle C. Reed founded the Dunkirk Radiator Corporation and The Utica Companies. To help with production, Dunkirk purchased the Sanitary Receiver Company in the late 1950s. Later, Dunkirk made acquisitions to expand its presence in the boiler market. In 1992, Dunkirk purchased Ultimate Engineering. In 1998, Dunkirk purchased the boiler-related assets of Pennco Inc. In 1999, Dunkirk and Utica merged to form ECR International. (The initials "ECR" refer to the companies' founder, Earle C. Reed.)"
