The setpoint of an L8148A is the high limit temperature. By moving that lower you assure that the water of the boiler is kept lower, which translates to having the burner go on and off several times to make the hot water. As indirect tanks make the hot water at their rating (often 170F into the tank exchanger, you are assuring that the burner will go on and off more often and the water in the tank will take longer to heat.
