as long as he is paying for any damage, have some fun ... most texts say 4 psig will damage them.

Yes, additional pressure will force more leaks, then you find they made a leak where there was none. If you can't find the leak by temperature, sound or humidity in a local area, there probably isn't one at low pressure - YET!
