The faster you vent the main the better. It is not uncommon to use more than one vent on each main.
Make sure no vents leak steam.
If the radiator vents are making much of a hissing noise your main line vents are not venting fast enough.
Insulate all the steam pipes in the basement including the boiler piping.
The nozzle may be a bit small. If the boiler is rated for 2.00 gph and you have 1.00 gph it may be making steam too slowly.
How much radiation do you have in the home? Do you know the sq ft of radiation?
Firing rate must be close to a ratio of fire side heating surface or it cost more to heat.
