I mean that there are no leaks, so make-up water is essentially zero. Oxygen gets into boilers through make-up water.

And all the high points should be bled of air with the system hot (minimum solubility of air in water).

Don't drain the system unless necessary for work on the piping.

Also, it's good to have automatic air removal from the circulating water. For example, my old system has a Bell & Gossett Airtrol fitting that removes air and puts it in the expansion tank.
