Are you talking about the thermostat (that controls the temp in the house) or the aquastat (that controls the water temp in the boiler)?

The thermostat certainly shouldn't be at 110 deg (way to high). The aquastat should be set well above 110 deg.

Something is mixed up here.

: I got a new thermostat, and this one does work, meaning if I turn it down, almost as low as it goes, it will shut the system off... but it still doesn't want to turn off.
