: I'm not sure my Weil Mclain HE II is working right.
: The pump should continue to run after the water reaches it's temperature, right? It will run, heat everything then shuts down, after a few minutes the pump kicks back on, will run then shut down and then re-flame and fire back up. How exactly does this thing work? I'm use to my old American Standard, no noise jut heated and pumped.
Sounds like the temperature high-limit control is shutting down the whole works (instead of just the flame). I'm not familiar enough with that unit totally diagnose it, but if the thermostat is still calling for heat when it's cycling off, that's where I'd look first. If the high-limit is set too low or the boiler is ultra-oversized for the load it might trip the overtemp limit, but the pump should only shut off when there's no longer a thermostat calling for heat.
Dig into the control schematics to figure it out, but this sounds like a safety-interlock trip of some sort.
