I am buying a home that currently has baseboards that are pretty beat up. Looking around, it seemed my options are as follows:
1) Add decorative covers to same and call it a day
2) Replace with Cast Iron baseboard
3) Replace with radiant panel baseboard
I like the last option as these can disappear into existing molding pretty well, but I'm not sure about the output vs. the fin type baseboard.
Is there anything to be gained by using cast iron baseboard?
Currently the boiler is a W/M gas fired atmospheric boiler with a 75 gallon indirect water heater that is past its service life. I would like to look into a mod/con system next year, if that helps.
