Looking at new boilers

We are looking into getting a new boiler. The one we have is probably close to 50 years old. Our chimney is leaking into our house, and the mason guys all said we should just replace the boiler because of the cost of fixing the chimney.

We know nothing about boilers or what brand is the best, but have a friend that could probably install one for us. He has done work with boilers in the past. Is there a place we can purchase one with out having to pay someone to install it?

We are currently waiting on 3 quotes on a Munchkin, wells mclain and budarus (sorry, I'm sure those are spelled wrong).

Our other concern is that these new ones aren't going to last as long as the one we have now (which is in good working condition, just not very efficent.)
