Background: We recently replaced an ancient American Standard 275000 btu boiler (converted from coal to oil to gas) with a Weil-McLain CGa-6. House was built in 1930, 2100 sq feet with a 1600 sq finished basement, not much insulation and old storms. Radiators in basement are turned off but all are in the same loop. Plan is eventually to rehab the basement into some office/workspace to rent out. Price difference installed between condensing and the CGa6 was $6K so we decided to spend money on insulation and new storms once our finances settle out. So the question - will adding an indirect water heater to this system work well for us? We are in Western North Carolina. Thank you.
