I can write this now that the power has come back on, it had been out for about 2 hours (but the radiators had gone cold, no residual heat from the iron :(

My question is during a power outage, is there a way of manually envoking the burner to turn on, so we have some heat? I know the water pump would not work to circulate the water, but would the hot water start to circulate on its own convection?

The unit is an early 1980's Hydrotherm boiler, hot water heating system. The water pump (Grandolfo) is on the return line. There is no power vent to worry about.

Thanks
