Would like any info on boiler design. where I could purchase a manual, etc. Are the still in business? Were they similar to any other boilers still in business? would like to clean soot from cast sections
Oil tech that did the yearly cleaning on it said it hasn't been cleaned well, and soot in one side of castings was packed and not removeable and boiler should be replaced. It seems to do a good job of heating the house, I have baseboard hot water heat, and I haven't had a problem with the unit although it's about 48 years old. Is there an area below the flu pipe that needs to be cleaned with a brush or what ever? He said he cleaned out about 60% of the soot but couldn't reach the rest and I should get a new boiler installed.
