While it's nice to know the history of antique boilers, it isn't very useful, as boiler service is very common to most.

It makes a LOT of sense that fuel bills will be high in an uninsulated antique house with an antique boiler below 50% efficiency. That is why the insulation requirements of 1992 make houses use 1/4 the energy of antiques.
