I wouldn't expect the baffles to go bad, though some might warp over that time. If they did go bad, I'd be concerned with rusting from condensation at low temperatures. In a gas boiler, it's a good idea to look every 3 or 4 years to make sure all is well and head off accumulating any passage blockage from dirt. Carbon soot there would indicate bad combustion.
