++ No, it is not a known boiler or Weil McLain problem alone; it is a known control problem with electronic ignitions, though NO manufacturer that uses them will admit it or write service instructions in plain view for fear of getting a hard time from the control manufacturer. It is a problem that ANY boiler repair company should know about as it affects ANY gas electronic ignition at least once per three years for the past 25 years. However, it is a rip-off method of shady companies to make more money by selling a whole new boiler instead of replacing a $2 part each year,
Both the manufacturers and the service companies know of this ignitor-coating problem as they couldn't possibly avoid the repair over the past quarter century; but some collusion makes a sale of a new boiler better for both manufacturer and 'repair' company. When you have 'professionals' in a business with the preparation and minds of junior-high kids, it's a way to get more money faster.
