The smart control is a waste of money with a wall-hung, low water content boiler like the NTI. The main purpose of the Smart Control, like a System 2000 control, is to purge the boiler of hot water after burner shut-down. There isn't enough hot water left in the NTI boiler to keep the pump running for more than a few seconds. The Smart Control would be good for a heavy large-mass cast-iron or steel boiler with several gallons of heated water inside it; not a boiler that weighs 80 pounds, mostly sheet metal, with half a gallon of water inside.

Save the money of the Smart Control by returning the control for refund and get the simple mechanical circulator control for the Amtrol. You can keep it if you have a Tim Allen need to say 'oooh ooooh' and put a Chevy engine on the circulator, otherwise not...
