You are caught in the 'sue-me' scam that people use to keep their money. If the case gets to court, the heating contractor will have to bring up a kind of 'proof' that a boiler that still holds water, which is all it can do, does not hold water. There were no controls on the boiler in 1903, so they can't be destroyed. Most boilers of that period were firebrick base merely covered with insulation, so replacing it is nothing new and can't destroy it. I suppose it comes down to how corrupt the court system is to go along with the millionaire.

As the boiler was probably a Smith Mills boiler, there are some pics still available in the boiler history books.
