"which is a better system"

A boiler is a main maker of heat like an engine is a main maker of motion for a car. A boiler is not a system as an engine is not a car. The boiler is just part of a system that might be good or bad. You are replacing a boiler because something was not right, either efficiency or a leak in the system.

A bad mechanic can make a good boiler fail. A good mechanic can make a bad boiler work well.

Both Carrier (Dunkirk) and Burnham are good cast iron boilers.
