have had four estimates on replacing weil mclain boiler. the boiler was not old, but did develop a leak on the top of the boiler. (unusual according to the experts) The system is two pipe with two steam and two return lines (circa 1929)system was not installed with hartford loop or riser, but has an unusual set of pipes that parallel to the steam pipes that kind of act like a loop --a big loop. I am planning on replacing unit with same and adding a riser and loop-- do i tear out out big loop with vent on it or leave it alone?????
